Whether it is a simple change or a larger renovation, coming up with a practical plan before we begin is the most important first step. Our initial meetings with a homeowner to discuss their renovation or addition are in depth discussions to help us understand what the goals of the remodel are so that we can best help you in making decisions. The last thing we ever want to hear is “I wish I would have thought of that” or “I wish you would have told us that”. We draw on our in-house design expertise to work with you to create the perfect plan to transform your home within the budget you have.
The possibilities are nearly endless. It might be time to bring down a wall and open up that kitchen space, or make the bathroom a bit bigger or more useful. Maybe an addition or a new 2nd floor would give the extra living space you have always wanted.
Opening up the first floor may meet your needs for more space. Also, it is generally more cost effective to add more space above, creating a 2nd floor, than it is expanding the footprint coverage on your lot. Building ‘up’ avoids costly excavation and foundation work that can be spent instead on the 2nd floor expansion.
Our experience includes additions, bump-outs and 2nd floor expansions of all sorts; small renovations to customize a home to a new owner’s specific needs, very extensive renovations on older homes and everything in between. We are most commonly updating homes built in the 1950’s to 1980’s, but also were sought out to bring our considerable knowledge to restore the oldest house in Chatham.
Every renovation we work on is unique to the home and the homeowner. Whatever your needs may be we are confident that we can work with you to achieve your goals.
