When we purchased a beach house on Nantucket Sound, we knew it had potential to be a perfect spot for our family. We had no idea, however, how much would be involved in renovations. Fortunately we found Ranney and Rimington Custom Builders to help us from design through finishing touches. They removed walls, moved a staircase, relocated the kitchen, and brought in excellent painters, electricians, plumbers, and tile experts. Somehow they managed to complete the job in less than ten weeks – a miracle on the Cape. Jay, our job supervisor, was professional, friendly, and available to answer our many questions. We’ll be renovating bathrooms soon, maybe adding a garage, and we wouldn’t attempt the projects without this company.

When we purchased our home in Sandwich in 2014 ,we knew we were embarking on a major renovation. The house was built more than a century ago ,but had passed a structural inspection. The first floor would be extensively renovated and the second floor would be replaced. And this would be done while we lived in Florida. So finding a contractor with whom we could communicate and whom we could trust was key. Fortunately, we found Ranney and Rimington.
As soon as demolition began, we discovered that this was a massively more complex project than anticipated. Large portions of the foundation had failed, walls were standing more from habit than structure, and essentially nothing met code. The original plans had to be radically modified. Again, fortunately we had found Ranney and Rimington.
The renovation is now complete and we are thrilled with the result. Ranney and Rimington had exceeded our expectations. They communicated (thank you, Pam) well and often. Things where completed when they said that they would be done and at the cost projected. R & R was also open to changes and modifications during the project. Their crew is helpful, friendly, professional and very talented. Their craftsmanship is exceptional. The subcontractors were excellent, too. And all this was managed from Florida.

The installation of our Bellawood floors was finished a few hours ago and I wanted to let you know how very happy we are with the work. We decided to build a 34′ x 13′ addition and new deck on the back of our home. We also needed new siding on the back and side of our home.
